EMAZZANTI CUSTOMER GAMEWEAR HITS NETWORK CONNECTION AND PROTECTION HOMERUN WITH WATCHGUARD SOLUTION

Hoboken, New Jersey – 09-08-2009 – Faced with the challenge of rapid worldwide triple-digit growth across a broad base of manufacturing sites, retailers and sales representatives all needing safe, reliable access to product information, GameWear turned to its IT partner eMazzanti Technologies for a solution. WatchGuard network protection appliances proved to be the answer. “We’re very, very cautious about giving people access to our IT infrastructure, essentially access to our office and a window into the kind of business we run, said Frank Cerullo, chief executive officer, GameWear. “Our answer to better security was to find a firm that could prove to me that the security concern could be satisfied.”

The WatchGuard “Wonder”

To solve security and connection concerns, eMazzanti recruited an impressive line-up of product solutions from its network vendor WatchGuard, installing a WatchGuard CoreTM with a full Unified Threat Management Software Suite including WebBlocker, Gateway AntiVirus/IPS and spamBlocker. The firewall is configured to run all services fully proxied, with a locked-down set of rules. The WatchGuard CoreTM protects several dozen desktop PCs in the GameWear office as well multiple servers, and also allows secure remote access via SSL-VPN.

Now our employees can work anywhere at any time, and that’s invaluable to us

Seasoned Pros Deliver Competitive Advantage

Once the proven WatchGuard security solution was in place, the impact on GameWear’s business spanned more than a single season. “Now our employees can work anywhere at any time, and that’s invaluable to us,” explained Cerullo. “Our Internet does not go down, and it’s exceptionally fast because of the policies we have set up with the FireWare Pro OS.”

GameWear’s network and site—where customers and sales staff come for marketing resources— are protected as well. “We use VoIP phones internally, and it’s something I was considering moving away from because of the breakups and lack of clarity. eMazzanti Technologies told we should ‘play the new guy’ WatchGuard’ and he was right. All of those problems went away when we used the quality-of-service capabilities. WatchGuard and eMazzanti Technologies gave us the competitive advantage we needed.”
